Multiple migratory caterpillar hairs in the eye – A case report

A 40-year-old male presented with a history of caterpillar fall in his right eye subsequent foreign body feeling, discomfort, and redness to tertiary care facility southern India. His best corrected visual acuity both eyes was 6/6. The IOP were within normal range. Multiple hairs seen during thorough examination the eye, palpebral conjunctiva, superficial deep corneal stroma, anterior chamber. There no chamber reaction. fundus limits. Under topical anaesthesia, conjunctiva removed help forceps. patient started on steroids antibiotics. carefully monitored. patient's symptoms had improved. During next visit, cornea removed. Despite having chamber, this or posterior reactivity. Two iris visible follow-up, but there none conjunctiva. is still being followed up regular basis (9 months). Caterpillar have capacity move intraocularly through are known elicit an inflammatory response eye. Therefore, it important be aware potential for intraocular inflammation following quiescent stage.
